CTC279 – Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone, and welcome back to another week of Caseing the Catty. This week we are bringing you a sketch challenge.

I had made a card using this sketch in preparation for this challenge a couple of weeks ago, but everytime I went to photograph it I just wasnt happy with it. So at the 11th hour I decided to make something new and this is what I came up with – complete with a sneak peak of new product being released on August 4th.

Although I am much happier with this card, its actually really hard to photograph. The photos don’t really do it justice because I have used a lot of glimmer paper! The stamp set I am using is a new one called Warm & Toasty and I love it. You can check out some other samples I have made with it here. I stamped direct onto glimmer paper and them added some colour very carefully using some markers.

Be really careful using markers on glimmer paper as you can easily damage the nibs if you aren’t taking care. After colouring aI cut it out and layered onto a panel that I coloured in an ombre effect using a sponge brayer.

Finally I layered all of this onto a Coastal Cabana panel that I had embossed with the subtle embossing folder. The sentiment was heat embossed in white – and I was done!

Sketch challenges are such a great way to get involved in our weekly challenge. The thinking about layout is done for you, just grab your favourite elements and put it all together. Don’t forget to upload a happy snap of your project into our facebook group.

Next up tonight is the hugely talented Lauren, click below to visit her page and check out what she is sharing.

  1. Your card is super cute, Shannon and I’m sure it’s super sparkly, too! I’ve never thought of stamping on glimmer paper; it looks really great.
