Just a quick post to share with you this week, about a scrapbook layout I put together featuring some Halloween photos I took last week. I don’t scrapbook often, but I enjoy having a go at it, and I tend to like the end results.
Halloween is not a massive holiday here in Australia, but more and more kids are going out trick or treating each year. We have taken my boys the last couple of years, we meet up with a group of friends from our local school and walk a lap of the block, knocking on the doors of any houses that are decorated and looking like they are ready for trick or treaters. The kids have an absolute ball, and this year was no different.
The first page I made was inspired by a sketch challenge happening in one of the facebook groups I am in. I used strips of DSP from the Monster Bash DSP pack, and used some coordinating card stock to mat and embellish. The spooky title is stamped and cut using the Lined Alphabet stamp set and coordinating dies. The card stock use is Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White and Terracotta Tile.
I have used a couple of retired punches to embellish, the bat punch is from last year’s catalogue and the owl punch (which I have turned into a ghost) retired some years ago now. At the bottom of the page i stamped using the speckled stamp in the Waterfront stamp set in black ink, and then used my aqua painter to flick Pumpkin Pie ink over the top.
The second page of this layout uses the same DSP page combined with some smaller photos.
I forgot to photograph this second page before I stuck the photos down Since the photos include kids that aren’t mine I didn’t really want to include them – so I’ve just covered them with a piece of card – just in case you’re wondering why some of the embellishments look like they are under the photos!
I hope you’ve enjoyed me sharing some scrapbook pages – something a bit different for me 🙂
