CTC253 – Come to Gather Suite

Hi everyone, thanks for dropping in tonight. What a week it’s been – we started the week on Sunday with a temperature of 36 degrees (a touch under 97 degrees Fahrenheit) and then followed this by a week of wet stormy weather like we were back in winter! We almost cancelled trick or treating around the neighbourhood, but in the end the weather held out and we got to go!

This week we are CASEing the Come the Gather suite from the Holiday catalogue, pages 46-51. I have taken inspiration from the card shown above with the 3 festive birds.

I have used a selection of DSP from the holiday catalogue from the Let It Snow paper pack, Wrapped in Plaid paper pack and the Night Before Christmas paper pack. I layered on some stitched nested labels and used my stamparatus to stamp the three birds. I added a bit of colour using my blends (alcohol markers).

I finished them off by heat embossing ‘Merry Christmas’ across the bottom. Two of the cards were embossed in gold, and the third used white embossing powder. When embossing in white I prefer to stamp first in white ink, and then in versamark, and then use the white embossing powder. I find this gives a crisper image.

My Christmas card stash is growing slowly….still quite a few more to make though. How is yours going? Maybe this is the week to start – why not play along with our challenge and upload a photo of your project to our facebook group. Remember – you can be inpisred by anything from pages 46 – 51; maybe a layout, colour scheme, some elements or even just the stamp sets. Click the link below to visit our facebook group and join in.

Next up tonight is Peta, click below to check out her gorgeous project.
