Hi everyone, and welcome back to another round of CASEing the Catty. This week we are being inspired by a layout on page 52 of the holiday catalogue.
Now I now that this is a Halloween page, and if you are in Australia or New Zealand maybe Halloween is not a holiday you celebrate, but keep in mind it’s the layout we are Caesing, not the theme…However- if you are looking for an excuse to make something halloween themed feel free to right ahead!
Growing up Halloween wasn’t something we celebrated, but now that i have kids I do take them trick or treating. We get together with a bunch of other neighbourhood kids and do a lap of the block. Given the kids ages, it’s not even dark when we go – but the kids love it! Costume wise this year I will have one as Harry Potter and one wearing a gross mask with a shimmery cape plus a costume jewellery necklace….yup – anything goes! I’ll post a pic next week 🙂

Now onto the project. I liked the look of the little tags shown on the bottle in the above picture. But I decided to make them Christmas themed.

I used a selection of DSP from the holiday catalogue, but I did stick it to a piece of whisper white card stock to give it some extra weight. I like sturdy gift tags…with young inquisitive kids and a dog, they need to last right!

I stamped a snowman from the Snowman Season stampset and did a small amount of colouring. Basically his hat, scarf and nose. I also added the tiniest amount of shading in light pool party on his body where the snow balls connect. If you don’t have blends forget the shading and just use markers to colour. It’s the tiniest area so blends aren’t necessary. The sentiment also comes from the Snowman Season stamp set.

So I had somewhere to write I added a piece of coloured card with a stitched rectangle in white.

The tops of the tags are punched with the scalloped tag topper punch. We have two tag topper punches in the catalogue, they have different patterns at the top, and also different sized ribbon holes. The ribbon I used is the whisper white flax ribbon.
I hope you like these little tags, and I can’t wait to see what crafty projects you come up with this week. To join in just upload your creation to our Facebook group – click the image below.
