Halloween is approaching, and whilst it is not a huge holiday here in Australia, trick or treating is starting to take off as something fun for the neighbourhood kids to do. We took our boys out last year and they loved it! We got together with a few other neighbourhood families, the kids had a sausage sizzle dinner (the parents might have had a wine or two!) and we wandered around out block looking for decorated houses that looked like they were taking part. Since our kids are young it was all over by 6:30 (so barely dark!). A good fun evening had by all.

I still don’t really get halloween cards (do you send them to people in the same way you do Christmas cards? Send them to all your family?) But they are fun to make so I have made a couple that I will be sharing this week.

The first is one I made as part of this weeks Just Add Ink sketch challenge. The sketch we had to work with is shown below – but you’ll notice my card flips the sketch on its side.

I used a basic black card base, and then added a strip of DSP from the Monster Bash DSP pack. The image is cut out of another piece of DSP from this same pack, and I have added a Pumpkin Pie mat. The sentiment comes from the Birds of A Feather stamp set.

The final thing I added was some mini googly eyes – no surprises there as I am adding eyes to everything lately…I can’t stop myself!
