CTC250 – Case a Layout

Hello and thanks for dropping in tonight. It’s been a busy couple of weeks lately here with school holidays. We’ve fitted lots in and had a bunch of fun. We managed to get away down south to Yallingup for a weekend which was amazing. Such a gorgeous pocket of the state. If you ever visit WA make sure to include a trip to our gorgeous South West….and if you are from WA – we’ll I’m likely preaching to the converted!

Unfortunately the place we were staying didn’t allow pets, so we left our gorgeous girl Jessa with some friends and family. She had a weekend of long walks and cuddly naps.

I’ve used this weeks challenge as inspiration to create a ‘thank you for dog sitting’ card. I used the layout of the landscape card shown below, the one with merry merlot DSP.

For my card I’ve used a whisper white base and added a layer of pretty peacock embossed with the subtle embossing folder. On top of this I have added a layer of DSP from the Come to Gather DSP pack. The gingham strip of DSP is also from this same pack.

On a stitched square I have stamped the puppy footprint (from Happy Tails stamp set) in pretty peacock. The puppy is coloured using crumb cake blends and I have popped her up on dimensional.

I finished with the sentiment heat embossed in gold and a strip of the pretty peacock linen scalloped ribbon. I thought the linen ribbon tied in well with the DSP that had a bit of a linen look to it.

The challenges where we case a layout are great for everyone, but especially good if you have never done a challenge before. They are a great starting point. Will you join us this week? Click the image below to visit our Facebook page to upload your entry.

Next up on tonight’s blog hop is the lovely Rose, click the image below to have a look at her beautiful work.

  1. I’m sure Jessa had a good holiday weekend as well! How awesome to be able to make such a beautiful handmade card for the occasion. I love your colour combination and the way you’ve switched out the elements from the inspiration card. Beautiful! 🙂 Siobhan.
