Today I am playing along with a challenge that had the theme – Just Add a Window / Frame. I was stumped for a while as to what to put together. In the end I think it looks more like a porthole – but a porthole is generally a framed round window right….so I think it will pass.
The challenge I am playing along with today is from Just-Add-Ink – there is still a bit of time left to create so pop over and check it out.
This cards was one of those cards that doesn’t start with a clear picture at all. Actually – that’s not entirely true. I had a basic picture in my head, but I didn’t cut the paper correctly so it wasn’t going to work so I had to think again.
In the end I went with a 3.5″ square card with the front covered in a piece of DSP from the Wood Textures DSP stack. I have actually only recently bought this paper as I thought it would be handy for both animal themed cards and also masculine cards. I love this paper and can see it being used on lots of things in the future.
The platypus is from the Postcard Pals stamp set – I cannot rate this set enough. I love it! I coloured him using my blends, fussy cut him out and them used dimensionals to pop him up on a circle of whisper white. The orange frame is cut from a piece of pumpkin pie card stock.
Quite a simple card in the end, and has the versatility to work for either a male or female birthday.
