Today’s card uses colours that wouldn’t normally be used for a floral card, but I think it turned out really well.
The colours I chose for today’s card were inspired by the Colour INKspiration Challenge happening over in their Facebook group. There is still time to join in, so head over and check it out. The colours for challenge #33 were Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke and Sahara Sand. You are also permitted to use some neutrals and or metallics.
I started with a layer of Springtime Foil speciality DSP left over from Sale-A-Bration and used my sponge brayer to add some Night of Navy ink. For my image I cut out a stitched square and stamped the flower stems in Always Artichoke and the flowers in Marina Mist. I added some grassy shrubs in sahara sand, as well as a couple of butterflies also in Sahara Sand. All of this stamping was done by colouring the stamps using my Stampin Write markers as I don’t have the ink pads. These markers are so versatile and super handy for extending your colour range.
I mounted this stamped image on a square of Night of Navy and popped this up on the DSP layer using dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Daisy Delight stamp set and is stamped on Very Vanilla in Night of Navy ink.
I finished off by attaching this panel to a Very Vanilla card base. All up this was quite a simple card and by changing the sentiment it could be used for many different occasions.
