Combining Old and New

I’ve got a very quick share for you tonight – I didn’t think I was going to have much time to craft this weekend – but then Perth got out into a short sharp lockdown…which sadly forced me spend time both in the garden and the craft room!

If you follow my blog you would know that we recently moved into a new house. It’s got a much larger garden than we have previously had but we are loving it. Today we even got the sample some of our home grown bananas. They still look green in this pic (taken about a week ago) but they ripen fast and I can confirm they are yummy!

But back to the craft room. I was running low on gift tags (I like to attached these to gift bags etc) so I used the retiring tag topper punch to create some quick tags.

Using my blending brushes I added some colour to each of them – the New In-Colours! I must admit when I first saw these colours I thought they were nice…but nothing special. I’m much more a ‘bright colour’ girl. But they took exactly 10s to grow on me and now I’m obsessed!

After sponging I flicked some water on them to give a bit of extra interest. This step was of particular interest to my 5 year old assistant and he has processed to flick water on everything he has created since!

I finished off the tags with some gold embossed butterflies from the butterfly gala set, punched with the coordinating punch.
