We’re Back! Welcome to our first Caseing the Catty challenge for 2020. We’ve made a few changes this year, the main one being you now have two weeks to enter each challenge giving you more time to come up with a project. We’d love to see more people entering our challenges so I would encourage you to give it a go. Start simple and build up.

Our first challenge for this year is to case anything in the new Mini Catalogue. So many options to choose from. Case a layout, a colour combo, a technique – anything you like. And remember you don’t need to use products from this catalogue (although we all know you have new toys sitting in your craft room waiting to be used!), you are just being inspired by it, so if you are yet to purchase anything don’t stress! Use what you have.

For my card this week I have cased the layout of a sample shown on page 28, and I am featuring a bundle called Power of Hope. This bundle is a stamp set (Power of Hope) and an embossing folder (Stone 3D), and can be earnt for free during Sale-A-Bration with a spend of $180.

I’ve used a Petal Pink base, and embossed another Petal Pink panel using the Stone 3D embossing folder. The Japanese lady is from the Power of Hope stamp set. I stamped her once and coloured the umbrella and the face area and fussy cut her out. I stamped a second time on some DSP from the Lily Impressions DSP pack. I cut out just the dress part and stuck it on to my original image – this is called paper piecing.

I coloured the background of the top stitched shape using watercolour pencils and an aqua painter. Finally I added the sentiment which is also from the Power of Hope stamp set. I finished with a bit of Petal Pink Organdy striped ribbon.
I hope you like tonight’s card, and do consider the power of hope bundle if you manage to earn something for free, the embossing folder is gorgeous – so so versatile. What do you love in the catalogue? I challenge you to make something with your fav product and upload it to our facebook group. Click below to go straight there.
Up next tonight is fellow Perth demo Siobhan, she created to most stunning projects so click below to check it out.
The embossed stone background looks amazing and I love the paper piecing of the kimono in the DSP you have chosen, it looks great.

This is quite different from you, Shannon, and I love it!! The paper pieced dress is gorgeous, a perfect choice of pattern. I keep meaning to try this technique so you’ve given me a nudge to so do. I love the embossed background on this and the way you’ve used such a soft, neutral colour palette. Beautiful, as always. 🙂 Siobhan.
