Between young kids and a new puppy I found myself awake quite early this morning (funnily all of the above managed to go back to sleep!), so i decided to pass the time fussy cutting some cute little christmas characters from the Santa’s Workshop DSP.
All of the paper in this DSP pack has one side that has additional texture in the way of flocking. Almost everything that is white is flocked – or furry as my kids say.
Both of these cards are actually very simple to go together, especially this first one. The background is a candy striped piece of DSP, and yes – the white stripes are flocked. I have added to this a stitched oval and a gold snowflake (retired). Santa and Mrs Claus are both popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, a retired set but there are plenty of similar sized sentiments in the current catalogue.
The second card didn’t turn out anything like I orginally planned, as by the time I went to put it together I had a ‘helper’ who decided the elves should climb the tree just like they do on the paper. I decided to let my little helper go for it and he set about picking out the background embossing folder (softly falling) and deciding where all the elements should go.
The background piece is Costal Cabana, which is one of the coordinating colours for this pack of paper. It ties in nicely with the present stack. The tree is stamped and cut using the Winter Woods bundle, and is in garden green.
To finish both the cards I have added a strip of the DSP to the inside too, just to cheer up the inside so it wasn’t so white.
