We all have scraps don’t we, well today’s card is a perfect way to use them up.

As mentioned in a previous post, one of the challenges I like to play along with – Just Add Ink –  has hit a high milestone this week – the big 400! I decided turning 400 calls for making two cards, so I put together another card in order to celebrate.

For my second card for this challenge, I took inspiration from the speckled (spotty ?) coloured eggs. I used strips of scraps to create pattern on a piece of black card. The strips are cut to a width of 2cm each. The paper comes from a retired paper stack containing spotty paper in the ‘subtle’ colour family.  I also used a few pieces of the spotty foil speciality paper from the Springfoils DSP – another free Sale-A-Bration item. This paper is amazing – probably one of my all time favourites. It is thick so could be used for 3D items, it can be coloured or it can just be left plain to sparkle. Truly beautiful paper.

I finished the card with a sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set, combined with a party panda from the aptly named Party Pandas set (yet another free Sale-A-Bration item!). I stamped the balloon onto a small scrap of the paper I had used in the background and cut it out to pull everything together. This card front was then mounted onto a piece of thick whisper white to complete the card.

I really like how this card turned out, and I can’t wait to find a recipient for it.
