One of the challenges I like to play along with has hit a high milestone this week – the big 400! I decided turning 400 calls for making two cards, both used techniques I have been meaning to play with for a while.
The Just-Add-Ink inspiration photo for challenge #400 is shown below. For my first card I took inspiration from the colours and the fact it is #400! I used the stamp set Amazing You (also shown below).

I used versa mark ink and clear embossing powder to heat emboss the fireworks in the background. Then I used sponges to sponge ink over the top of the embossing. The stamp is from the Amazing You free Sale-A-Bration stamp set. As soon as I saw this stamp I thought of fireworks. These stamps are red rubber, a tip for lining up the stamp to make make a full round firework is to stamp the first one, and then line up the base of the stamp with the top of the small circle in the centre of the one you have stamped. Try it and you’ll see it comes out perfect.
I finished the card using some large number dies I have to cut out the ‘400’. I cut out 4 instances of each number and glued them all together to get a raised image. I really like how this card turned out, but I’m unsure I will ever have an occasion to actually give this one out! If you think of an occasion I could use this – let me know 🙂
I really like how this card turned out, and I can’t wait to find a recipient for it.
I think this milestone calls for a second card, so stay tuned for another post!
This card is absolutely gorgeous Shannon and such an amazing way to celebrate our 400th challenge!! I love how you’ve added colour over the fireworks and your sentiment says it all!! Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink.

I really like the Fireworks – the colours are lovely and I bet they look even better IRL – with the embossing. Chantell Just Add Ink
