Waterfront Inspired by Chile

About eight years we made the decision to quit our day jobs and go travelling. What began as a 12 month holiday turned into about 18 months spent overseas in both South and Central America. A once in a lifetime trip full of jaw dropping scenery. Tonights cards use the waterfront stamp set to recreate some of the photos we took in Chile.

All of the cards tonight used the Waterfront stamp set combined with sponges and a little bit of aqua painter and all are created on shimmery white card stock. The first card is inspired by this photo we took while visiting Puerto Rio Tranquilo. This card was probably my least favourite, mostly because I struggled to get the sky quite right. It had potential but I was a bit heavy handed with the fresh fig. I didn’t get the colours quite right, but I think it still turned out OK.

The next two cards were both inspired by photos we took around Puerto Varas (also in Chile). This small town is know as the ‘Village of Roses’. It has strong German heritage and is just so picturesque. The backdrop of the village is the amazing Volcano Osorno. It’s this spectacular volcano with a very conical top. I have tried to capture it in these cards.

Here are the photos:

And here are the cards…..

For this first one, I was very quick to add a sentiment as I accidentally smeared some old olive ink – some would say I made a mistake, I would say I created an opportunity to embellish!

This second card is actually my favourite out of the three, and I am entering it into a couple of challenges this week. The Just-Add-Ink has the these ‘Just Add Water’ and also the Addicted to Stamps and More has the theme ‘Make Your Mark’. I think this card fits both this challenges. I didn’t capture the waterfall perfectly, but I gave it a good go.

Hope you like tonights cards as much as I enjoyed creating them.
