This week in CASEing the Catty we can case anything from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue, and this week I have chosen the card on page 15 with the panda holding the balloons.

I started off with some of the Petal Passion DSP – this paper is stunning. It’s all black and white, however some of the paper has images that can be coloured. I used Stampin Blends (alcohol markers) to colour and they made very light work of it. The colour goes on so smoothly and there are no colouring lines as you blend colours. The paper also makes it very easy to colour as the lines are wide so you don’t need to have too much attention to detail.
The colours I used were light / dark Cherry Cobbler, and light / dark Old Olive.
I tried multiple pieces of DSP to team this now coloured paper up with, but I wasn’t happy with any of it. In the end I decided to just use my blends and block colour the bottom half of my card. So quick and easy and quite effective I think.
Keeping with the floral theme, instead of the panda holding balloons I decided to create a bunch of flowers. These were stamped using a retired set called Petite Petals which also has a punch so they are very easy to cut out. I stamped them in memento ink and also coloured them with blends. Finally I used heat embossed the sentiment in white.
