Paper Adventures April Team Hop

Hello everyone – it’s been a long time since my last post but here I am! It’s been a crazy few months in our house but things are starting to return to normal – and I am super excited to be hoping along with the fabulous Paper Adventures Team.

This month we have been inspired by the photo below, taken by one of our talented team members Siobhan. For me this photo and the colours remind me of Autumn, which is one of my favourite times of year. The days are still blue skies and sunny, but not too hot and the nights and mornings are cooling off. I used to live on a street lined with London Planetrees and at this time of year the leaves would turn a vibrant golden orange and start to fall. It looked nothing short of stunning.

My card tonight uses some of the colours from the photo….and also a sneak peak of some new designer series paper that will be available in the upcoming annual catalogue. The paper is called Beauty of the Earth and it is gorgeous! Full of rich earthy colours and patters – I love it!

I started with a white card base, and added a strip of card that I had stamped in Merry Merlot using the stripes stamp in the soon to be retiring Pattern Play stamp set. I layered a piece of the DSP that I cut with a stitched rectangle. I had actually intended to use the opposite side of this paper, but you know what it’s like – you flip it over to add glue and realise you would rather the other side be showing!

We have had a huge amount of dragonflies in our backyard recently – one even got stuck inside earlier this week, so I could go past using the Dragonfly Garden stampset to finish off my Autumn card. This stamp set coordinates with a dragonfly punch so it makes for quick and easy card making. I stamped the dragonfly in Merry Merlot and then used Wink of Stella to blend some ink into the wings and add some sparkle.

I hope you have enjoyed this card tonight, and the sneak peak of some new product! Click below to continue the hop – next up is Sana!
