Hi everyone, and welcome to this month’s Social Stamping Blog Host – tonight’s theme is Celebrate!
Big thanks to Kelly Kent for continuing to host these blog hops, sit back and relax and make your way around all the projects being shared tonight. There is a link to the next one in the loop down below, otherwise you can check here for a full list of everyone participating.
I am sharing two cards tonight, same style – different colours. I made the background pieces using alcohol, alcohol inks and a tiny straw. Whilst you can use alcohol inks on lots of different paper styles (and get lots of different effects) in todays cards I have used a synthetic paper called Yupo.
Essentially all I did was use a little pipette (dropper like thing) to drops a mixture of the ink and alcohol onto the paper, and then I gently blew it around with the straw. For the blue card I only used one shade of blue, but then watered sections down with the alcohol to give the look of different tones.

For the pink card, I did something similar, but I also used a bit of gold ink as well for a slightly different look.

For both the cards I have added a simple ‘Celebrate’ sentiment cut with Gold Glimmer paper. In the end they are very simple cards, but I really love the almost textual effect that eventuated.

Which is your favourite – Pink or Blue? Leave me a comment and let me know 🙂
Next up tonight is my lovely friend Michelle from South Australia, click below to see what she is sharing (hint: It is awesome!).

These backgrounds are absolutely stunning, Shannon! I can’t pick a favourite – I love that the blue one has white spaces, and I love the metallics with the pink. Such a great way to make a statement with colour.
