CTC265 – 2nd Release SAB – Week 1

Hi everyone – I am back! I have been missing in action for the last couple of hops as we were taking a long planned family holiday to the gorgeous country of Japan. Absolutely amazing country, the people are so beautiful and friendly. One of the main purposes of the trip was to go skiing (our kids had never seen snow before this trip) and we had so much fun. The kids really enjoyed learning to ski and both of them picked it up fast. Here are a few of my 100s and 100s of photos I took. We cannot wait to go back again!

Now – on to today’s project. This fortnight we are being inspired by the second release Sale-A-Bration catalogue, and I have chosen the sponged card on page 3, shown below.

While we were away, my wonderful Mother-In-Law looked after our gorgeous pooch Jessa so I wanted to make her a card to go with her thank you gift. The example card has a background created by brayering ink onto some of the stunning foiled DSP (that you can earn for free for another couple of weeks!).

Instead of doing this, I heat embossed some dog bones in white onto my background and then sponged over the top using the colours Granny Apple Green, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana.

I actually stayed pretty true to the catalogue sample in this card, sometimes the catalogue just gives us everything we need for a project 🙂 How lucky we are to have so many gorgeous samples at our fingertips.

You’ve got two weeks to enter this challenge, and we would love to see what you come up with. Upload your entry to our Facebook page by clicking on the image below.

Next up on tonights hop, we’re heading across to NZ to visit the lovely Sandra.

  1. Excellent choice of card to CASE, hee hee 🙂 The bones on the background are fabulous and I love the colour combo for the brayering, they work so well together. Love it, so great to have you back! 🙂 Siobhan.

  3. It looks like you had an amazing time in Japan. I’ve only been there for a few days for a stopover on my way to the UK and would love to go back one day.
Love the bones background. Lovely emboss resist card and great sponging.
