Hello! And thanks for stopping by tonight. This week we have what I think is one of the more fun weeks in the challenge. We are CASEing cards from a single page. I find these weeks fun because they are a challenge, and although there are only 4 cards for inspiration, the projects people have created are all so different. It’s amazing to see what people come up with.
Tonight we are CASEing any layout shown on page 101 in the Annual Catalogue.

For me, I picked the elephant card shown in the bottom left of this page. I was immediately drawn to the repetitive pattern of die cuts in the background.
The card I made is for my son’s soccer coach. The kids have just finished their first season of Joey Soccer and they loved it! Joey Soccer is a very cut down version of Soccer, with the emphasis being on fun, friends and having a go.

I started by heat embossing lots of soccer balls from the stamp set ‘For The Win’. Instead of using the plain black embossing powder, I used the new Shimmery Black embossing powder. Its got a small glittery sparkle in it (hard to photograph). I kept the layout almost identical to the card in the catalogue, just swapped out elements to suit a sporty card.
The trophy is stamped in Staz On onto gold foil and just cut out. The bakers twine is the Night of Navy / Sahara Sand bakers twine in the Come Sail Away With Me suite.
For the inside, I kept it pretty simple. I put white card on both sides of the inside leaving lots of room for the kids to write their names (5 year olds aren’t really known for writing small yet!).

The ‘thanks’ is cut using the ‘Well Written’ dies in gold foil, and the word ‘Coach’ was stamped using letters in the now retired ‘Pick A Pennant’ stamp set.

I hope you like my interpretation of the catalogue example. If you’d like to join in this week, click the image below.
Next up tonight is tonight is the lovely Sandra. Click below to see what she is sharing with us.
Your is so cute as it is, but must look stunning in real life with all the sparkle and gold foil!

Perfect card for the occasion, Shannon! How cool to be able to make a soccer card. I love the balls as the background. The black and white repeating pattern makes it look 3D. So cool!! 🙂 Siobhan.

Such a cool card, and what a great idea to put a writing panel on both sides of the inside. The gold trophy looks fantastic.
