CTC234 – Case the Colours in the Pressed Petals DSP

img_6221

Hi everyone, and thanks for stopping by this week for the CASE-ing the Catty blog hop. We have got some gorgeous projects on display today, but I guess that’s what happens when you have got beautiful things to work with.

It was a gloomy wet day here in Perth today, perfect weather for some crafting. I’ve got a few birthdays coming up so I had a bit of list of things I wanted to make, I got some of them done so I’ll be sharing those in the coming weeks.

Tonights blog hop projects are all featuring the colours from the Pressed Petals DSP, shown below, and also includes Very Vanilla.

To make me card I used a Very Vanilla base with a panel of Rococo Rose embossed using the subtles embossing folder. Instead of DSP I have used a strip of card in Blushing Bride (this is not actually a colour in the DSP, but I think it works) which I have stamped the small images in the Floral Essence and Free as A Bird stamp sets. I used the colours Rococo Rose, Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizazz and Soft Suede.

The sentiment is from the Floral Essence stamp set and I have again fussy cut some birds to finish off the card. Before I stuck down the sentiment cluster I thought it needed some more so I also added a couple of pieces of the Burlap Ribbon.

Lachie’s Critique

Here is what Lachie thought….turns out he wasn’t a fan of my Burlap Ribbon choice!

With a new catalogue comes new enthusiasm, and our group over on facebook has grown a bit recently. We would love to have you join us – no blogging required, just upload a photo to our group page.

Next up tonight is the amazing Siobhan, click below to visit her blog and then continue hopping around until you get back here.

  1. You’ve got to love kids! They will always tell us exactly what they think. I think the card looks great, burlap ribbon and all! You did a great job stamping your own DSP!

  2. Sorry, Lachie, but you’re wrong on this one – the burlap ribbon is just perfect! I love the way you can see the stamping peeking through and it adds some lovely texture. I love the Pear Pizazz on Rococo Rose and the way you’ve managed to incorporate os many of the other colours without it looking too busy. Another beautiful bird creation from you, Shannon. 🙂 Siobhan.

  3. Your card is so pretty, Shannon. I love Blushing Bride with Rococo Rose and the background stamping looks fabulous behind the burlap. Love those birdies too!
