Just Add Ink On a Rainy Day

Hello everyone, I hope you have enjoyed the first day of your Easter Long Weekend! It was a very rainy stormy day here in Perth (Australia) – the first ‘bad’ weather day in ages. But it was a perfect day for getting into the craft room and getting inky.

I received a perfectly timed email from the team over at Just-Add-Ink telling me about this week’s challenge and I couldn’t resist.

Last night I sat down to go over the list of items that will retire at the end of this catalogue and one of the sets that will sadly be going is ‘Oh So Eclectic’. This was one of the first sets I bought and I love it. And it just so happens to contain both flowers and crosses so was perfect for the challenge.

I started with a thick whisper white card base, and added a layer of DSP from the Botanical Butterflies (a Sale-A-Bration freebie). On a stitched rectangle panel, I stamped some crosses in the background and then added the leaves and flowers over the top (fussy cut out). The flowers are stamped in Melon Mambo and the leaves in Granny Apple Green – I love these two colours together, and combining them with the black in the background makes them pop even more.

I hope you enjoy the simplicity of this card. I have a few more things to share with you this weekend (love a good long weekend!). Travel safely if you are heading away this weekend, Happy Easter.

  1. This is so pretty Shannon! Gorgeous colour choices and I love how you’ve combined the lovely flower posy with the tiny crosses. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week.

  2. I agree – very pretty Shannon. I really love the gingham – it works so well with the crosses, created a lovely background. The bold flowers are really striking. Chantell Just Add Ink
