CTC210 – Sale-A-Bration

Welcome to what is a very exciting blog post for me! Towards the end of 2018 I was asked if I would like to be part of the design team of the CASEing the Catty weekly challenge. Of course I said yes – it has always been one of my favourite design challenges to participate in. So here I am, and all things going well I will be hopping along every Sunday to give you some inspiration on how you can use the catalogues to create beautiful projects. This week we are CASEing projects from the all new 2019 Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. This is a catalogue full of free product! For every $90AUD you spend in any current catalogue you can select an item from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue and recieve it totally free. For my project I have been inspired by the top two cards shown in the photo below, made with the stamp set Hello Cupcake featured on page 6. I liked them both so I merged them together.

I started with a base of thick whisper white card stock and added a layer of coastal cabana. On a seperate scrap of white card, I stamped the cake base in crumb cake, and then three instances of the cake top in Highland Heather, Grapefruit Grove and Flirty Flamingo. The sprinkles on the top layer are in melon mambo. I fussy cut them all out – very easy cutting in this stamp set which is great for me!

For the sentiment, I stamped in Melon Mambo on a strip of Flirty Flamingo card stock. I flagged the ends, and then folded it to look like a banner. I popped this and all the cake pieces up on dimensions and stuck them to a strip of whisper white. Before attached to the card base I added some tone on tone stamping in coastal cabana for some background interest, finally finishing with some rhinestones.
