Tonight I am using one of the brand new designer series paper packs called Festive Farmhouse. It’s a beautiful paper pack full of great designs that make really gorgeous background interest pieces. The card I made tonight uses two different designs from this pack.

The Festive Farmhouse DSP pack comprises 12 sheets, 2 each of 6 double sided designs, shown in the photo below. It features very traditional christmas colours so if traditional is your thing then this is an awesome pack for you.

The layout for the card is inspired by the Holiday Catalogue. I am playing along with this week’s CASEing the Catty challenge and we are getting inspiration from the ‘All Is Bright’ section of the catalogue. I have chosen to CASE the small gift tag shown on page 8, but create it as a card instead.

I kept the layout pretty close to what is shown in the catalogue, only I used a larger deer (from the Detailed Deer thinlets), and cut it out in the new Joyous Noel glimmer paper. Although the card base is Cherry Cobbler and the glimmer paper is Merry Merlot, I think they are close enough to still work well together.

I don’t have any dies that resemble holly leaves, so I have actually used the leaves from the Tropical Thinnest set. For the holly berries I just punched out some card and glimmer paper with a 1/4″ circle punch – use what you have right? 🙂
