I received a lovely box of goodies in the mail on Friday, and couldn’t wait to sit down and have a play. First off – with the waterfront stamp set.
The Waterfront stamp set is in the current Occasions catalogue. When I first saw it I thought I had to have it, I love sponging scenic cards and it looked like it would work well. Then I looked closer and decided the water and mountain stamps were all a bit staged so I didn’t buy it. And then I saw the stunning pieces people were creating and I knew I had to buy it. Unfortunately when I ordered it I forgot to order some water colouring paper, so the water coloured scenes will have to wait. But I still wanted to ink it up and see what I could put together.
I started with a square from the stitched shape dies and sponged on some Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Pumpkin Pie and Flirty Flamingo. Then I stamped the images in Early Espresso – and that is it! The sentiment comes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and I also stamped that in Early Espresso. Matted both of these pieces onto a rectangle of Early Espresso, followed by one in Peekaboo Peach. Mounted all of this onto a piece of vanilla card stock.
The layout of the card was inspired from this weeks CAS Colours and Sketches challenge – this week it was a sketch.
Very nice scene, Shannon! I have yet to ink up my Waterfront. You have inspired me to do so. Thanks for joining us at CAS Colours and Sketches. Marsha DT

I like your silhouette beach scene. It’s making me wish our weather was warm enough to enjoy something like that (it’s currently 44°F with a wind chill of 33°). Thanks for sharing your card with us at CC&S! I hope you’ll join us again soon for another challenge.
