My take on the Retiform Technique

Retiform means crossing lines, intersections or net-like. The technique essentially involves dividing your canvas into sections to create a design. Some people choose not to leave white space between their sections, some do. All up to personal choice.

I created two different cards using the same layout, a sponged sectioned background with stamping over the top. When stamping each of the sections, all other sections are masked off.

In the below birthday card, both the background and stamping is done in watermelon wonder. The butterfly is a ‘no-name’ branded stamp, and the sentiment comes from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set.

The christmas card below follows the same design, the background is in Emerald Envy, and the snowflake stamping is from the Kaisercraft Frosted stamp set.
