Sponging a background

One of the first cards I made (that wasn’t just pattered paper stuck to cardboard….not that there is anything wrong with that!) was using sponges to create a background.

I used a post-it note (sticky note) to create a mask for the moon. I then used two ink colours from Stampin Up – Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum. The trees were from the Kaisercraft Frosted stamp set, and I stamped them with Stampin Up Basic Black. The card is made from Dapper Demin cardstock. Such a simple technique but very effective

Here is a another one I did, very similar but with trees stamped in Emerald Envy (Stampin Up, the tree stamp is part of the Foxy Friends stamp set). The sentiment came from a Kaisercraft set, I stamped it on white card stock and then fussy cut it out.
