CTC267 – Ornate Garden – Week 1

Hi Everyone, and welcome to this week’s blog hop. Each week we share ideas that have been inspired by something in one of the current catalogues. I hope you are enjoying your easter, even if this year Easter looks a little different to normal!

I have been missing in action the last couple of weeks as I (like most people) start to adjust to the new normal. For me, this means working from home for the foreseeable future, at the same time as facilitating school related activities for our two boys. We are all managing quite well really and starting to find our rhythm.

This week we are getting our inspiration from the flowers of the brand new Ornate Garden suite. This is a suite of products from the upcoming annual catalogue that have been released early – maybe to soften the blow of Sale-A-Bration ending!

To be honest I am not a huge floral person and I haven’t bought this suite of products, but it inspired me to look at what florals I do have an get them out to use – when I might otherwise just leave them in the cupboard. While going through my stash I found this gorgeous DSP from the Best Dressed DSP pack. Whilst I may not be a fan of florals, this paper is gorgeous. And I am a huge fan of pink and green together.

I teamed this gorgeous floral paper, with one of the Delicate Lace Dies and a Lovely Lipstick card base. The sentiment comes from the Waterfront stamp set.

I hope you’ll consider joining in our challenge this week, maybe make a card and send it to someone you would normally see quite regularly, but can’t go and visit at the moment. Click below to visit our facebook group and upload a snap of what you make.

Next up tonight is Judy Click below to have a look at the amazing project she is sharing.

  1. I love this paper too. It’s so pretty. And the sweet die cut edge is just perfect for the feminine charm of your card. Love love love.

  2. You’ve picked one of my favourite papers too, and I suspect it is because of the bright clear colours. The diecut is spectacular against the Lovely Lipstick, lovely card.

  3. You handled the floral challenge extremely well! Love the pink, green, and white combo. So crisp and clean and happy. An awesome card. Good luck with the working and schooling from home situation. Hope you can squeeze some sneaky craty time into that as well. 🙂 Siobhan.

  4. I do love when a challenge makes you take another look at your existing stampsets in a new light- great choice for all the elements in your lovely floral card- noone could really tell that you don’t do flowers!!

  5. I love the Lovely Lipstick piece of cardstock coming out on the right of the DSP with the lace die over the top. Pretty, yet bright and bold card.
Good luck with the juggling of work and schooling at home. I wish my job wasn’t on phones the whole time as that added an extra challenge for us. I’m sure you’ll do a great job.
