Hi everyone, and welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty. I hope you are all enjoying the new catalogue, even better if you have already purchased some new things and are playing with them. For this week’s challenge we are caseing the flowers of the new Annual Catalogue. Don’t mistake this for having to create a floral card if that’s not your thing, just find a project featuring flowers and make it your own. I flicked through and loved the layout of one of the cards shown on page 83 of the catalogue – also shown below. Its the one with the angled top white layer, shown centre left in the image below.

For both my cards I have used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to create my angled top layer. For the bottom layer I have used a piece of DSP from the 2020-2022 In-Colour Pack.

For the bumblebee card, I teamed it with some birds that I cut out from the Bird Ballad DSP pack (now retired). I’m not sure about you, but on my desk I keep two stamp cases filled with things ready to go on a card. One has blank die cut pieces – labels, panels etc. When I have scraps of paper I often die cut whatever I can fit and just pop it in the box for later. That way when I am playing with card layouts I have a few bits I can try out to see what works. The other box has what I consider as ‘ready to go’ pieces. For instance it might be panels already stamped with sentiments, or coloured images that didn’t end up making the cut for a card, or in this case – images I have fussy cut from DSP. Some days I just feel like colouring so I will stamp out a stack of images, colour them and then cut them out to be used later.

For my misty moonlight card, I have used a stamped image from the Beautiful World Bundle that I have then die cut out. I also die cut the globe stand in brass foil. I actually stamped and cut two of these globes out – one for this card and one for ‘ron.
