Hi Everyone, and thank you for stopping by today as we all share what we have been up to in the craft room this week. Today our theme is Sunshine – and if you live in Perth like me this week has been full of sunshine. Cold mornings and nights (well…cold for us anyway!), but the days are blue skies and lots of sun.
This blog host is the brain child of Kelly Kent, as a way to keep us all stamping and sharing at times when we can’t do it in person – so big thanks to Kelly. If you want to see links to everyone participating this week, click here.
Today my card is using a couple of bright fun colours that will be sadly leaving us shortly. If you don’t have these colours at home and want them, I think you should act now! The colours I have gone with are Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove.
I have used the Hand Lettered Prose Dies to cut out the word ‘sunshine’. In order to give it dimension I cut each letter out 4 times and stacked them all together. Whilst it may look fiddly, it’s pretty easy to hold the letters in your hand and get them lined up – I recommend a liquid glue that allows a bit of wiggle before it sticks. This is a great technique for making words standout without using foam or something similar. It also looks really cool if you use a couple of different colours and deliberately offset them slightly, to give a bit of a shadow effect.
The background of the card uses the In-Colour DSP and a strip of Grapefruit Grove card stock. I finished with a few Gingham Gala sequins. These sequins are currently on sale – so if you like them (and really…they are shiny and already have adhesive…how can you not like them!) get them quick before they run out.
Next up tonight is my wonderfully talented friend Sharni Haines. Click below to see what she is sharing, it is gorgeous!
