Just Add Ink – Celebrate!

Just a quick post today to share the card I made for the Just Add Ink design challenge #488. The girls over at Just Add Ink are celebrating 10 years since they started running this challenge, a massive achievement. There was no real theme this week other than celebrating their milestone. Click the image below to go and check out their challenge and their design team blog hop.

I took the opportunity to play with some new products from the Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue….but you might not pick what I have used straight away.

For this card I have used the Dockside Dies which coordinate with the By the Dock stamp set. One of my kids bought me this bundle for Christmas (picked out by them I might add) and I love it. But I decided to use it in a non-traditional sense. In case you haven’t picked it yet, my wreath of colour on today’s card is made using the oars from the Dockside Dies. I have cut them out in colours from the ‘Brights’ colour family and used them as the feature piece on my card.

I finished it with a simple sentiment (from a retired die set called Celebrate You) cut from black glimmer paper that I had in my stash…You can just see the glimmer in this photo. Quite a simple looking card, but bright and colourful which is what I love. I hope this gives you some ideas about thinking outside the square when it comes to using your stamps and dies.

Happy Crafting x

  1. This is such a beautiful and bold celebratory card, Shannon, I love it! So clever to use the oar to create your colourful wreath and the dimension and CAS design is a stunning combination. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink in our special celebration challenge.

  2. What a great way to use your dies in such a different way. It actually reminds me of the fans of Nail colour you see when you visit the nail salon. I love the black glimmer paper against bright colours. Chantell Just Add Ink
