CTC231 – Case Anything

Welcome to the last CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop for the 2018-2019 Catalogue! In a few days the new catalogue will be live and we will all be able to order as many of the new products as we want – so exciting!

But – for this week, we are opening the challenge right up and CASE-ing anything you want from the catalogue. Pick absolutely anything, a colour combo you like, a card layout you like, be inspired by your favourite suite – anything!

Tonight I am case-ing a card layout shown on page 82 in the Twinkle Twinkle suite, shown in the below image. It is the pink one in the centre.

The card layout is a simple one, and is perfect for featuring double sided DSP (or patterned paper). I have used the Tropical Escape DSP, and cut a regular sized panel piece, and then just cut a strip off the side. When I stuck the two pieces of DSP down, I just flipped one of them over – so easy!

The stamped image is from the retiring Postcard Pals stamp set, a set containing three lined images that you can then colour however you like – I used Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is stamped on granny apple green cardstock to match the card base. (The sentiment comes from the same stamp set as I was going for quick and simple).

Once I was finished I decided it needed something more, I had a scrap of blushing bride cardstock on my desk so I slid in a randomly cut piece of it, slid it in behind the stamped panel and decided to call it done! I have been trying my hand at scrapbooking lately, and what it has taught me is to not completely glue down elements until you are 100% sure you like where it is, that way you can (as I did on this one) slide in other elements behind them to create additional layers.

We would love to have you join in this challenge to say a final farewell to this catalogue – click the link below to go directly to our facebook page.

Next up on the hop tonight is Kelly Kent – an incredibly talented paper crafter who is also from WA. Hop on over to see what she has to share with you.

  1. Very clever last minute addition. Love the angled shape of the blushing bride! Love the way to show off the DSP too! Very cute card.

  2. Those papers really set the coloured image off a treat, and the addition of blushing bride was a bonus.
