CTC217 – Happiness Blooms Card Set

Welcome to Sunday and another round of Case-ing the Catty, a design challenge where we get inspired by the catalogue sitting on our desk!

This week we are using the Happiness Blooms section of the catalogue as our muse.

I decided it was time….to finally use my memories and more cards! I find these cards challenging – I love buying them as they make amazing cards with ease, however I find them somewhat overwhelming. I pull them out, look at them, get worried about cutting into them without a good plan….and then put them back in the box 🤣. But – today was the day to use them.

The memories and more pack have a coordinating set of notecards and envelopes. The cards come in two sizes, and are perfect if you simply want to stick the memories and more cards straight into a card front. I particularly like the small size, perfect for when you just need to attach something to a gift bag or stick into a bunch of flower. If you find you use more of the small size you can actually cut your larger ones in half to go from one 4×6 card to two 3×4 cards. Yes – you will run out of the included envelopes this way, but I don’t always use envelopes when using small cards.

Back to my card set, I set myself the challenge of only using the memories and more cards, no stamping, no extra embellishment. Whilst I realise these are nice to do, not everyone has a fully stocked craft room full of ribbon in every colour etc etc. I wanted to show you you could use these card packs to make gorgeous cards without a a massive investment.

The way I went about it, was to split the cards into those that had a sentiment I could use, and those more suited to a background piece. I also had a few I thought were best suited to having images fussy cut out to use on their own. And then it was a case of cutting out the sentiments and just playing around to see what I think worked.

I hope you like this card set, and consider giving these card packs a go. The only other supply you will need is your favourite adhesive and some scissors!

If you haven’t played along with the challenge before, then this is a stunning week to start in, and if you have played along we would love to see you back again. Click the image below to visit out facebook page and upload your photo straight to the group.

Next up on the list is the lovely Lauren, hop over to her blog to see what she has in store for us this week.

Happy crafting and I will see you next time x
