CTC215 – How Sweet It Is

Hello and Happy Sunday! And Sunday evening means another round of CASEing the Catty! This week we have been using the How Sweet It Is suite of products for inspiration, and the colours in this suite are amazing! Bright, fun and pretty all rolled into one suite.

This week I have used the colours in the coastal cabana card shown in the image above (bottom right card), as well as the technique of colouring in an embossed image.

I started by adding a watercolor wash in coastal cabana to a piece of shimmery white card stock, before embossing (in white) the floral image from the stamp set Wonderful Romance (tip – make sure the background is completely dry before embossing else you will get stray powder).

The image was coloured in Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green and Grapefruit Grove. To give a bit of dimension I stamped and embossed a second time, cut out the flowers and popped them up on dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Incredible Like You and is stamped in coastal cabana on a banner cut from the Lakeside Framelits (in the annual catalogue).

I finished with a bit of Granny Apple Green textured weave ribbon and some basic clear rhinestones. The card base is coastal cabana and I added another layer of whisper white just to provide a small border.

I have also been making an effort to decorate the insides of my cards and also the envelopes at the time of making them so they are complete and ready to go. The lines on the envelope are from the Incredible Like You stamp set. Patterned stamps like these are so versatile!

I hope you will join us this week – no blog required. Just upload your photo to our ultra friendly facebook group and you are done!

Next up this week is Siobhan – hope on over to her blog and see what she has to inspire us this week

  1. Super pretty card with stunning colour choices. The white embossing is soooo beautiful. And I love the stamped envelope. That is superb. The total package is awesome.
